On November 2, 2024, the African Diaspora Voters Education Board (ADVEB) hosted the First National STEM Department Conference, marking an essential milestone in the preparation of the National Registry—a platform central to the formation of the African Diaspora Government. We are pleased to report that the event was a success, with participation from developers and technical experts who are dedicated to advancing this historic initiative.

Conference Highlights

The conference attracted a significant number of registered participants and several qualified developers who joined the virtual call. During the session, attendees were provided with an overview of the system architecture, built using Flutter and powered by Google Firebase, and discussed key areas requiring refinement to ensure a smooth launch.

Collaborative Work Underway

To maintain momentum, an email thread was created during the call to keep all participating developers informed and engaged. Additionally, a dedicated group chat will be established to facilitate collaboration and provide access to the project’s GitHub repository. This platform will serve as a space for developers to review, troubleshoot, and enhance the system’s code together.

Invitation for Latecomers

We remain open to welcoming more developers who wish to contribute to this groundbreaking project. Latecomers who join will have the opportunity to participate in the email thread and group chat, where they can provide valuable input and collaborate with the existing team. Your expertise can play a crucial role in ensuring the system is ready for its upcoming launch.

Next Steps: Beta Testing Conference

Once the current development work is completed and the code is optimized, a second conference will be scheduled to conduct beta testing. This step is vital to ensuring that the platform operates smoothly and securely for users, setting the stage for a successful rollout.

Be Part of This Historic Initiative

This project represents a collective effort to empower the African Diaspora with tools that will facilitate participation in governance and shape the future. Whether you’re a developer, tester, or supporter, your contributions are invaluable to this journey.

Stay tuned for updates on the upcoming beta testing conference and further opportunities to contribute to this important mission. Together, we are building a legacy that will resonate for generations.
